Lonely food hunter
We came to one of the huge halls of the railway station Leipzig. Housewife Linda stared at the polished floor, as clean as the floor in Angela Merkel?s Kanzleramt, I suppose. Or even cleaner. No paper, no food.
"These halls should be great concert halls. And how much would skaters love to glide on this floor", I said to Dietrich.
We were standing and watching the man sitting on one of the steps to the upper floor. He had some beer bottles and a full backpack standing beside him, and he was dreaming or thinking and staring at the floor. Some minutes later there came a guard man, who talked to the man and who asked him to leave the hall. The perfect picture was not disturbed any longer.
But, oh no, there came a little person along, running, hopping, picking, where was nothing to be picked as to our eyes. A pigeon!
A courageous pigeon was running through the hall and didn?t feel disturbed by the reflecting polished stones of the floor. She was so fast that my camera asked me to give up, but I tried to follow this little disturber as long as it disappeared in a corner. So lovely was this pigeon. Nobody noticed her, nobody appreciated her – and nobody killed her. I was so glad!
And I asked myself, if she was the official railway station pigeon, who had the duty to bring a smile on some people?s faces.
